Why the Solly Baby Wrap Was My Most Grabbed Carrier with Baby Number Four

I didn’t try the Solly Baby wrap until my fourth baby, and I wish I’d found it sooner. It quickly became the stretchy wrap I reached for most- it’s so soft, easy, and honestly has some of the most beautiful patterns I’ve seen on a stretchy wrap. My girls even had matching baby doll wraps, which was so cute!

What Is the Solly Baby Wrap?

Like other stretchy wraps, it’s one piece of fabric you tie once and slide baby in and out of. A few specifics:

– 100% TENCEL Modal fabric

– One size, universal fit (if you’re on either end of the spectrum, you may find it’s either an overwhelming amount of fabric or not quite enough. But it fits most!)

– Fits babies from about 8 to 25 lbs (I think this is a really good, accurate range. Optimal comfort is up to about 15+ pounds.)

– Hip-healthy certified

– Made in the USA

– A huge range of prints and solid colors, including matching baby doll wraps for older siblings

How It Compares to Hope & Plum

If you’ve read my Hope & Plum stretchy wrap review, the Solly wrap will feel familiar. Both are lightweight, breathable, and easy to learn on. A couple of differences:

  • Only one size. Hope & Plum offers Short and Long depending on your body. Solly is one-size-fits-all, so there’s no length to choose.
  • Slightly softer feel. The TENCEL Modal has a noticeably soft, almost buttery hand-feel. It’s a small difference, but it’s the first thing I notice every time I put it on.
  • Beyond that, the two are close enough that either is a solid choice. For me, the prints tipped it. Solly’s patterns are what kept this one in heavy rotation. But, Hope & Plum has lots of great ones, I just didn’t have them with my fourth baby.

Why It Was My Go-To

Great for: newborn wear, everyday errands, sibling bonding with matching doll wraps

With my fourth, I already knew what I wanted out of a stretchy wrap: something light, soft, and simple. This one checked every box. It’s not warm or bulky, so it worked well across seasons, and the fabric never felt scratchy or stiff against newborn skin.

It’s also just fun. Having prints my girls loved and doll-sized versions for them to “wear” their own babies in made it something we all loved! My girls also loved making a demo on how to use it!

Final Thoughts

The Solly Baby Wrap earned its spot as my most-used stretchy wrap with my fourth baby. If you’re deciding between this and Hope & Plum, it really comes down to whether you want sizing options, brand values that resonate with you, or a one-size, grab-and-go wrap with standout prints.

No matter which stretchy wrap you choose, remember that it’s just one option within the world of babywearing.
